Images is a performance that prioritizes simple storytelling, clear artistic communication, and deeply dramatic music. Images opens with a piano concerto performed by Amaury Morales, grounding the evening in virtuosic musical performance. In the second half, each composer selected a work of visual art from history and used it as a point of departure—bringing the image to life through original composition and movement. Together, music and dance mine our shared humanity, translating still images into living, emotional experiences onstage. Images invites audiences to feel deeply—to be moved, unsettled, and even brought to tears—and to leave reminded that the act of making art, simply because it must be made, is itself an act of hope.

The Jazz Nutcracker
A reimagined Nutcracker set to the vibrant jazz music of Billy Strayhorn. Clara experiences her first crush and and takes a journey to Club Sweets with her beloved Nutcracker. Join us for this exciting retelling of a classic tale at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.

The Onion
Premiering to sold out audiences in 2025, The Onion returns this spring! A Confluence original ballet based on the parable of the onion from The Brothers Karamazov. “The Onion” tackles the relationship between good and evil set to a brand new original score, performed live by the Confluence Ballet Ensemble.
