Olivia Lynch
Olivia is the Manager of Young Alumni & Student Programs for the Pitt Alumni Association. She oversees the Pitt Alumni Student Network, and Spirit of Pitt Program, and is one of the advisors for Blue & Gold Society Ambassadors. She has her dual Bachelors's degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Point Park University. She recently won the Point Park University’s Distinguished Alumni Award. She twirled for the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Band as Pitt Golden Girl and was a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi. Olivia was a competitive baton twirler for 22 years. She was the first African American to win the Congressional Cup Invitational. She has won many states, regional and national titles including Junior World Performing Arts Champion; 2004 Pre-teen Grand National Champion; 2006, 2009, and 2012 NBTA World Baton Twirling Team Champion with the Wheaton Dance Twirl Team; 2010 USTA Northeast Regional Solo Champion; 2011 Congressional Cup Champion; and 2013 Disney Night of Stars Specialty Act Winner. Olivia is still involved in the sport of baton twirling. She teaches baton twirling and dance in the Pittsburgh area and travels across the country to teach at clinics. She is the creative director for the Howard University Baton Twirlers. She has also co-founded the Black Baton Twirlers Network which is a 501(c)(3). BBTN’s purpose is to provide a space to promote a spirit of community, inclusion, and the celebration of black baton twirlers. She currently serves as the president and works on new initiatives to support and promote twirlers of colors.
