Moselle Haney

Moselle "Mo" Haney started our company as Confluence Dance Theatre in 2020, during the COVID quarantine. She and some of her friends would meet in Schenley Park and rehearse work she had choreographed.

Mo’s biggest inspiration was Dance Theatre of Harlem. In 2015, she attended a summer intensive there and knew one day she would want to create a diverse company like Arthur Mitchell did.

The name Confluence is drawn from Pittsburgh's rivers. Two rivers meet here to become one. The company was founded out of a desire to give artistic voices to those who have been marginalized by the mainstream dance community and those who wish to find their own voice artistically.

Mo started dancing at 2 years old. Throughout her training, she attended programs at Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as local ballet schools near her home in Washington state. Mo also danced as a guest artist with DASSdance in Seattle.

Currently, Mo lives in Las Vegas where she serves as an Emergency Medical Technician and Certified Nursing Assistant. She continues to work in her home studio, dancing and creating new choreography, including for new ballets she hopes to put on stage one day with Confluence Ballet and other companies.
