Keeley Hernandez
Co-Artistic Director
Keeley Hernández, a Pittsburgh native, began her ballet career at home, inspired by her mother and sister. Growing up in the theater, shadowing her mother as a director, stage manager, and costumer at Southwest Ballet Co., Keeley was constantly surrounded by the arts. Her classical training started at Southwest Ballet but continued at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre until she moved to Carlisle, PA, to train at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. During this time, Keeley had the opportunity to train under renowned ballet figures such as Marcia Dale Weary, Darla Hoover, Melinda Howe, Roberto Muñoz, and Simon Ball.
She has performed in prominent works like A Midsummer Night's Dream, Don Quixote, and Balanchine's Serenade, The Nutcracker, and Divertimento No. 15, as well as being an original cast member in new works by Florian Lochner and Triinu Upkin at the Estonian National Ballet Summer Gala.
Her professional career began at Richmond Ballet, where she spent five years as a trusted employee, dancer, teacher, and administrator. During this time, she honed her professionalism and leadership skills, particularly while working in RB's community outreach program, Minds In Motion. Keeley is grateful for the opportunity to expand her artistic knowledge as Co-Director of Confluence Ballet Co.
