Company Apprentices
Grace Wellmon
Grace was born and raised in Carlisle, PA, where she started dancing at the age of 2. She then began her pre-professional dance training at the age of 12 at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the instruction of Marcia Dale Weary. In high school, Grace started to get involved in her school’s theater productions where she started to delve more into musical theater tap and jazz dance styles. She continued her dance training under Leslie Hench, Kelly Strange, and at Chambersburg Ballet Theatre under the instruction of Lavinia Reid.
Grace went on to graduate from Messiah University with a communications degree and a dance minor, where she took classes in ballet, tap, modern, hip hop, as well as choreography, dance pedagogy, and dance history. During her time there, she was able to learn from and perform in faculty pieces choreographed by Gregg Hurley, Eileen Beth Mitchell, and Gretchen Patchell.
Over her 21-year-long dance career, Grace had the pleasure of performing many roles, both in ballet and musical productions. Her favorites include Snow Queen and Coffee in The Nutcracker and The Wicked Queen in Snow White with Chambersburg Ballet, and performing as a featured dancer in musicals Urinetown (Carlisle Theatre), Cinderella, The Addams Family, and Elf the Musical (Keystone Theatrics).
Grace is so excited and honored to be joining Confluence Ballet Company as an apprentice!
