Elena Cvetkovich
Elena Cvetkovich first fell in love with dance at Ballet Western Reserve in Youngstown, Ohio. She went on to complete her high school studies at Interlochen Arts Academy (MI), where she graduated with High Honors and the Young Artist Award in dance. Elena sought out additional training in a diversity of dance styles at programs including Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor, American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Conservatory, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, as well as a Yoga teacher certification through the Sivananda School in Quebec. Elena eventually returned to Ballet Western Reserve where she briefly served as Ballet Master before joining the recently revived professional company, Cleveland Ballet. Elena’s versatility and verve on stage earned her a place at the forefront of Cleveland Ballet’s productions, and garnered notice from critics. Some roles include the Coppelia doll in Ramon Ollier’s reimagined Coppelia, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Ollier), Tweedle Dum in Alice (Sappington), the magical Aunt Sofia in Cleveland Ballet’s uniquely storied Nutcracker (Guadalupe), and Manuela (Carmen’s nemesis) in Carmen (Guadalupe). Elena contributed as a faculty member for the School of Cleveland Ballet, where she led the contemporary dance program as well as outreach division classes. Additionally, she has choreographed classical and contemporary works for the School of Cleveland Ballet and the professional company. She has recently completed her bachelor's degree from Youngstown Sate University and is teaching in the Pittsburgh area.
